Society is honored for 50th anniversary

McHenry County Historical Society President Bob Frenz (left) receives a certificate from Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka honoring the society on its 50th anniversary.

It states: "... Since 1963 this organization has honored and preserved the history of McHenry County, Ill. Your efforts have allowed families, students and individuals to gain knowledge and experience the rich past of this historically significant county."

Presenting the certificate is Rich Carter, public affairs manager for the state comptroller's office.
