2015 Fike Scholarship Winner

Kyla Singleton, the 2015 Nancy Fike Scholarship winner from Crystal Lake, met the McHenry County Historical Society board and the award's namesake (left) June 29 at organization's annual meeting. Thanks to the McHenry County Conservation District for allowing us to use its shelter at Pleasant Valley Conservation Area. A hearty group of diehards overcame a cloudburst and the mosquitoes, while chowing down on beer brats and potluck goodies brought by attendees. Kyla plans to study history and political science at North Central College in Naperville. Next year's applicatrion and essay topic will be posted online in early 2016. Congratuations Kyla!
